Progress Tracker is a tool from Canvas that gives students a way to check their progress on individual assignments in the module view. The Progress Tracker will populate one of three symbols next to each assignment.

Grey Open Circle

The lesson has not been viewed or the assignment has not been submitted.

Green Check

For a Lesson with a "viewed" status, a green check means that the student has viewed the lesson.

For a Lesson with a "submitted" status, a green check means that the student has submitted the lesson.

For a Lesson with a scored competency assessment, a green check means that the student has achieved an 85% or better on that assessment.

Red Circle with Strike-thru

For a Lesson with a scored competency assessment, a red circle with a strike-thru means that the student completed the competency assessment and earned less than the required 85%.

Hover
Students can hover over each symbol to see what it means. The symbols have different meanings depending on the status of the lesson.

*Please note that the progress tracker will be available in all NEW enrollments. If you are already enrolled in a course, the pacing tool may not be active in your course.
