Contact Instructor Status

VLACS instructors can change a student's status to Contact Instructor, which limits the student's access to their course, experience, or project for many reasons, including:

  • Student/Family request for a pause in the course;
  • Student's lack of work;
  • Student's lack of communication; or
  • Other extenuating circumstances.

If a student receives a status change of "Contact Instructor," then the student and their parent/guardian should contact the instructor as soon as possible to assess the situation and make a plan. If a student and their parent/guardian requested the pause in the course, then they need to contact the instructor as soon as they're ready to start working again. For more information about Contact Instructor status, contact [email protected]. Enrolled students in Contact Instructor status should contact their instructors as soon as possible.
